A New Path: Life Skills Program
Tailored to meet clients’ specific needs, our Life Skills Program enables each individual to create a roadmap for the next phase of his or her life. Over a six-month period, the program covers a range of fundamental topics – from housing and health to finance and time management to education and employment – through seven different tracks: Home Sweet Home, Course of Action, Quality Time, Money Matters, Holistic Health, Live & Learn, and Career Counseling.

Home Sweet Home
The first step in the journey requires establishing a safe and stable living environment after leaving the residential treatment setting. To ensure a successful transition, we provide clients with resources, guidance, and assistance on a variety of housing issues such as choosing a location, selecting a roommate, and reviewing a lease. We also provide individuals the structure and support they need to get settled in their new lives by helping them create sober living agreements. |

Course of Action
The ability to set short- and long-term goals is critical to personal productivity, professional success, and effective living. Through the process of goal setting, clients learn to concentrate their efforts, so they become aware of distractions that would otherwise lure them from their course. We help clients develop an action plan – one that includes goals, milestones, and tasks – in a number of areas, including career, education, finances, family, and health. |

Quality Time
Good time management and organization skills are essential to living a productive and self-directed life. We teach clients a range of tools, tips, and techniques designed to help them develop their priorities, manage their time, and achieve their goals. As the client becomes more adept at completing specific tasks in a daily routine, they build competency and expand to manage all areas of their time more effectively. |

Money Matters
To help each individual develop a money management structure that will work within his or her means, we teach basic financial skills from the ground up, with a focus on budgeting. In this track, clients begin to understand the true meaning of a dollar, determine the difference between needs and wants, and learn how to apply these skills in the real world. Once the fundamental skill set is established, we branch into other areas based on the client’s needs – from asset creation to credit building. |

Holistic Health
We approach mental and physical health from a holistic perspective that focuses on the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – so individuals are better able to create balance in their personal lives, family relationships, community activities, and work settings. In addition to focusing on topics such as nutrition, fitness, and meditation, we help clients develop holistic health strategies that can easily fit into their daily lives. |

Live & Learn
From higher learning to vocational training, continued education can be a key element in personal and professional growth. We provide the resources to help clients understand what type of instruction, if any, is right for them. We also take time to assess each client’s technical skills to ensure they are ready to enter the job market in an age of technology. If needed, we provide basic computer training in areas such as word processing as well as more advanced computing education in software such as MS Office. |

Career Counseling
Whether they’re first-time job applicants or seasoned business professionals, we help clients (re)enter the job market by developing a program designed to meet their specific needs. In addition to providing job search assistance services such as resume review and interview practice, we help clients gain hands-on experience by connecting them to volunteer opportunities within the community. This allows individuals to build their resumes, give back to society, and develop relationship skills within a work setting. |
